Virginia Hildebrandt
Born in Dallas, Texas, Virginia comes from a family of teachers and authors. Her grandmother was a columnist for a rural newspaper in the 1940’s and ‘50’s, and also worked as teacher and administrator. Her mother is an author of historical fiction pieces in her retirement from a long teaching career.
Since she began teaching in the late 90’s, she has taught all levels of Spanish, postsecondary and heritage Spanish courses. She enjoys creating culturally authentic materials for the classroom and shares her outrageous tales of adventure and calamity with her students. Her ambition to explore indigenous beliefs and native cultures has led her to know to unique people and places. The people and places that she has come to know while traveling, working and living in Latin America are the backdrop for her novels.

My intention is to invite the reader into the hearts and lives of the characters, where the delicate equation of perception and accidental circumstance meet.”
