BrycesHouse is named after Christopher Bryce Burke.  Bryce was 19 months when he became ill He had a genetic metabolic disorder called MCAD that cause his blood sugar level to drop dramatically in hours.  This caused seizures which in turn caused brain damage. For the next 18 years, Bryce could not walk or talk or take care of himself. In the summer of 2016,  at the age of 20, Bryce passed away.

When Bryce first was diagnosed with MCAD his parents learned that if they had only had Bryce tested at birth, they would know he had MCAD and he probably would have been totally fine today.  (the test in 1998 cost $25). Read More…
